Job Details

Position: Transport Refrigeration Mechanic

Location: Mississauga, Ontario

Period: Starting January 2023 

Main activity of the business: Full-service transport fleet services provider, Reconditioning transport refrigeration


Duration of Contract: 2 years

Job Location:  Province Ontario

Wage: $30.00

Shifts: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm



REQUIREMENTS

Is there a Minimum Educational level: Highschool Graduate

Is a Driver’s license needed for the position: Yes 

Minimum Years of experience: 3 years


Education/Professional Development Requirements:

- College Diploma/Certificate in a mechanical trade

- Ozone Depletion Certificate

- Valid driver’s license

- Tools with tool storage


Experience Requirements:

- 3 years experience in transport refrigeration

- Ozone Depletion Certificate preferred


Physical Requirements:

- Lifting 50-75 lbs with or without assistance

- Climbing up to 8 ft with ladder.

- Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling

- Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, wet conditions


ADDITIONAL BENEFITS

Responsibilities:

- Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of components on truck and trailer refrigeration units.

- Maintaining transport refrigeration unit on trucks and trailers by performing diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment, and on-board computers, completing preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service to refrigeration equipment.

- Maintains transport truck and trailer refrigeration units and truck APUs by reviewing shop orders; listening to operator complaints; repairing failures; removing, replacing, and testing for freon leaks, assembling and installing parts and components involving soldering, welding, and the use of refrigeration equipment. Installing various new units on trailers, trucks, vans
