Company information: The daycare has a permit from the Ministry of the Family, with 80 places, including 10 places for children from birth to 17 months and 70 places for children 18 months and older, as well as a license d occupation of the municipality of the city of Brossard. The daycare aims to create, for each of the children entrusted to it, a warm living environment and an environment rich in experiences of all kinds. It promotes the global and harmonious development of the child in the physical, intellectual, linguistic, socio-emotional and moral dimensions.

Job Description:

-Prepare and implement early childhood education programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children

-Guide and help children develop good eating, bathing, and dressing habits

-Knowledge of the Day Nurseries Act

-Set rules for behavior

-Build relationships with and collaborate with colleagues and other community child service providers

-Lead children's activities by telling them stories, teaching them songs, and taking them to places of interest in the area

-Provide the opportunity to express their creativity through art, role play, music, and physical activity

-Observe children identify learning difficulties or behavioral problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor

-Knowledge of licensing regulations

-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, safety, and well-being of children

-Assess children's abilities, skills, interests, and needs, and discuss children's progress or problems with parents and other staff.


Requirements:

- Education: A two- to a four-year college program in early childhood education or a bachelor's degree in child development is required

- Experience: At least 2 years of experience working with children is required. 

- First aid required - if the candidate does not have it, he must take the 5-hour course

- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Sitting, standing, and walking; bending, squatting, kneeling; Repetitive tasks.

- Personal qualities: Punctuality; Judgement; Sense of organization; Reliable; Team spirit; Openness to others; Precise; Initiative; Flexible; Excellent written communication; Customer-focused attitude; Sense of responsibility; Effective interpersonal relationships; Excellent oral communication.

- Work environment: Daycare and pre-kindergarten.

- Language: French is required/advanced English

- Salary: $20.00 per hour. 32 - 40 hours per week.


Important information: The candidate will work Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. including a one-hour unpaid break. The number of working hours varies between 35 and 40 hours per week.
